A Better Way for New Leaders to Learn
Most new leaders don't receive any leadership training. Those who do often participate in generic leadership programs and become overwhelmed by theories and concepts.
Both of these fail to address a key fact: the unique skills each new leader brings with them shape how they interpret leadership.
A better way for new leaders to learn would be to develop their ability to reconfigure their skills for leadership with individualized coaching before participating in a traditional leadership development program.
I call it the Inverted Leadership Journey.
